GROW UP
MOVING FROM INFANTS
TO HEIRS

Article 32
May 30, 2004 |
I was awakened abruptly
from a sound sleep. It was the clear, audible voice of the Lord,
declaring with an incredibly definite tone, "Tell my people to GROW
UP!" Stunned, instantly and utterly awake by such a decree, I sat up
in bed. The room, however, was still filled with the power of the
declaration.
My entire body
was trembling and shaken by such a potent proclamation. My heart
pounding and mind racing, I regained my wits. I inquired of the Lord
asking how this was to be accomplished. Again, suddenly without
warning, the entire room was filled with this electrifying voice,
stating for a second time even more sternly, "Tell MY people
to GROW UP! THEY MUST ADVANCE MOVING FROM SLAVES TO SONS!"
His command was followed by the Spirit of Truth clearly highlighting
this passage, "Now I say that the heir, as long as he is a child,
does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of all, but
is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the
father. Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the
elements of the world. But when the fullness of the time had come,
God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to
redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the
adoption as sons."
"And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His
Son into your hearts, crying out, 'Abba, Father!' Therefore you are
no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God
through Christ." Galatians 4:1-7 NKJV
Do You Want
Your Inheritance? THEN GROW UP!
God longs to release outstanding, distinct destiny upon His
children. Each of us have a truly unique God-ordained inheritance.
It is time to grow up, moving from mere infants into mature sons. It
is crucial that we set our hearts to move without delay into
maturity. Only then will the Spirit of God be released to bring us
into our birthright and divine inheritance. It is truly a pity
to live spiritually impoverished, when in fact we are a
multi-mantled generation. It is the our birthright to walk
as Kings and Priests (see Rev. 1:5-7). God is looking for a people
who will shake themselves and arise coming out of this self-imposed
poverty.
The Lord has great plans for His people. Plans for our outstanding
success, not our failure (see Jeremiah 29:11). Because of this, an
evil spirit resists, opposing the Body of Christ, keeping us from
moving into a place of maturity; thus, God cannot release the
fullness of our inheritance. But great grace is offered at this time
to overcome this foul spirit and recover what has been taken.
RECOGNIZE AND OVERCOME THE ESAU SPIRIT
The identity of this spirit is most helpful: It is an Esau spirit
which manifests itself through causing believers to be distracted
from the worth and value of their birthrights and divine
inheritances. This has resulted in our disdaining, treating, and in
many ways, counting insignificant and worthless, what God places
great value and worth upon. May we never again be guilty of selling
our God-given destiny for a moment of self-gratification.
Many have fallen
prey to this spirit, seeking to allure them from the path of God,
causing them to seek quick indulgence, promising to satisfy the
hunger of the flesh by means of the feeding or indulging the desires
of the flesh. Another way this spirit works is causing believers to
expect only their inheritance to be given to them when they die and
enter heaven...causing us to live below the promise of power and
authority here and now.
God Wants Us To Rise Above - AND STAY THERE!
The scripture states that God hated Esau. I feel that it was the
deeds of Esau that God hated. What did Esau do that caused such a
displeasure in the heart of God the Father? He fell prey to this
spirit that demands the feeding and the satisfaction of the flesh,
pushing for personal pleasure at all cost. Thus Esau counted
worthless his inheritance, not valuing what God had destined him to
walk in...selling his birthright for a single bowl of soup (see Gen.
25:29-34 and Romans 9:13).
The Spirit
of God is releasing grace to overcome this spirit. We must regain a
noble desire to walk in our true birthright. Never should we again
be satisfied to walk below what God has designed for us. We are
created to be the head and not the tail. God destined us to be above
ONLY and not beneath.
Now is the time for us to rise above this spirit, pulling it down,
doing all that is within us to retrieve all that has been
stolen...seeking to prepare our hearts to receive all the Father
longs to release. We are no longer salves but sons, and thus, heirs
of the promise. The Lord is looking for a people who will walk in
uprightness of heart so that He can release outstanding authority
and power (see Psalms 24:3-5). It is one thing to ascend into the
hill of the Lord - the place of His power and authority; however, it
is another thing to so live that you might abide in such a place
(see Psalms 15:1-5).
MARKS OF TRUE
MATURITY...DEMONSTRATED DOMINION
The Promise is that as we move from infants into a deeper level of
spiritual maturity, we will advance from slave to son, and thus,
become heirs. It is awesome to receive the revelation that not only
are we heirs because of Christ Jesus, we actually become joint-heirs
with Christ (see Romans 8:14-17). Notice this promise found in
Romans 8:17 - And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and
joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we
may be also glorified together.
To be a joint-heir denotes that you are entitled to the exact equal
inheritance as the other family member. The inheritance is divided
equal if someone is a joint-heir. This is a tremendous incentive to
move into the place of maturity so that we will not be deprived of,
nor forfeit, one bit of what Father God longs for us to fully walk
in. The same anointing that empowered the early disciples is now
obtainable and available for each of us. Christ stated, "As My
Father has sent Me, even now I am sending you" (see John 20:21).
Your Birthright: To Walk In The
Anointing And Power Of God’s Holy Spirit
It is the plan of
God that we walk in demonstrated power. Christ declared that we
would be able to do the works that He accomplished and even greater
works than these (see John 14:12). This is part of our birthright.
The promise is that one generation will receive the restoration of
all other generations have lost. In Joshua 11:23, God gives to
Joshua all the things He had promised to Moses.
The
promises of God are sure. Even though one generation forfeits their
call, does not disqualify you from walking in your complete
birthright. In Joshua, chapter five, forty years of no became a yes
in one day. This is a great display of regaining your birthright and
obtaining the promise.
The Spirit of God is waking your heart, calling you to receive your
birthright. Your birthright is to walk in the anointing and power of
God’s Holy Spirit; thus empowered to accomplish great exploits by
the power and presence of God’s Holy Spirit (see Daniel 11:32).
For People Without Mixture, I Will
Pour Out My Power Without Measure
We are called to be overcomers, seated with Christ in true prophetic
and apostolic power (see Rev. 3:20-22). The eyes of the Lord are
looking for a people whose hearts are upright so that He can fully
support all they put their hands to do (see 2 Chronicles 16:9). Our
hearts must be free from self-seeking and self agendas. Our goal is
to be set so we desire nothing more than the advancing of the KING
Eternal and the establishing of the Kingdom of God.
The Lord spoke,
saying, "If I can find a people without mixture, I will pour out My
power without measure." God has promised to identify each of us as
Sons and Daughters of the Most High if we will choose to grow up and
live a clean pure life (see 2 Corinthians 6:16-18 and 2 Corinthians
7:1).
